Bachelor of Engineering - Eligibility:

Note: All Eligibility Criteria for Admission are as per DTE Rules

  1. 65% admission by Central Allotment Process (CAP) of Government of Maharashtra through CET MAIN 2016-17.
  2. 15%admission by Central Allotment Process (CAP) of Government ofMaharashtra through JEE/CET MAIN 2016-17 for MS/OMS candidate.
  3. 20% admission for institute level quota.
  4. Candidate should have passed HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Mathematics are compulsary and optional subjects are Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology & Technical Vocational. Choose any one from optional subjectand secured a minimum of 50% marks (45% in case of Backward Class candidates). For Biotechnology course, Biology is essential. For Maharashtra State seats through CAP, a ranking in JEE MAIN as declared by the government is essential. Institution level quota seats are filled up by due counseling as per merit basis.
  5. GOI nominee and J & K migrant have a quota of one seat in each department. They have to apply to Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State for release of seats.

(A) Eligibility for 2016-17 (F.Y./DSE/M.E./M.B.A) –

  1. Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate
  2. The candidate should be an Indian National.
  3. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together;
or
Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
or
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognized University as defined by UGC and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
  1. Obtained score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
  1. All India Candidature Candidates, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidates.-
  1. The candidate should be an Indian National;
  2. Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together;
Or
Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
Or
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognized University as defined by University Grants Commission and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
  1. Obtained score in CET or JEE Main paper I.
(B) Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry) – State Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidates –
  1. The Candidate should be an Indian National.
  2. Passed Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from an All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent.
Or
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging toMaharashtra State only) and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject provided that Students belonging to this category shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics /Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering ProgramAlong with second year subjects.
  1. Any other criterion declared by appropriate authority from time to time.
M.E. –
(1) For Maharashtra Candidature Candidates and All India Candidature Candidates–
  1. The Candidate should be an Indian National.
  2. Passed Bachelor Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology from All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only)
  3. Passed Bachelor Degree in the relevant course of Engineering and Technology as specified in the eligibility criteria for admission to a Post Graduate Degree course of the concerned University for which admission is being sought.
  4. Obtained score in Graduates Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology
  5. For sponsored candidates, minimum of two years of full time work experience in a registered firm/ company/ industry / educational and / or research institute / any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought.
Post Graduate Degree in Management (M.B.A. / M.M.S.)
  1. Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate –
  1. The candidate should be an Indian National.
  2. Passed minimum Three Year duration Bachelors Degree awarded by any of the Universities recognized by University Grants commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalent.
  3. Obtained score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
  1. All India Candidature Candidate, Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature Candidate –
  1. The candidate should be an Indian National.
  2. Passed minimum Three Year duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by the University recognized by University Grants commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalent.
  3. Obtained score in one of the following examinations;

CET conducted by the Competent Authority, Graduate Management Aptitude Test Conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council, United States of America (GMAT), Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Institute of Management (CAT), Management Aptitude Test Conducted by All India Management Association (MAT), Entrance Test for management Admissions conducted by The Association of Indian Management Schools. (ATMA), Xavier Aptitude Test conducted by Xavier School of Management Jamshedpur (XAT) and Common Management Aptitude Test Conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (CMAT).

Reservation for backward class category candidates:

The percentage of seats reserved for candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State is as per the details in table given below. The percentages of reservation are the percentages of the seats available for Maharashtra candidates, which are coming under the purview of the Competent Authority (Refer notes 1-5 given below for details). These are the minimum percentages of reservation exclusive of the backward class candidates securing allotment through General Merit by virtue of merit. Backward class candidates shall claim the category to which they belong to at the time of submission of application form for Centralized Admission.

Reservation for sons/daughters of Defence service personnel:

Five (5) % seats of the total sanctioned intake for an institute, subject to a maximum of five (5) seats in each institute coming under CAP shall be reserved for

  • Children of ex-service personnel who are domiciled in Maharashtra State (DEF-1)
  • Children of active service personnel who are domiciled in Maharashtra State (DEF-2)
  • Children of active service personnel (DEF-3)
  • Who are transferred to Maharashtra State but are not domiciled in Maharashtra State,
  • Who are not domiciled in Maharashtra State but their families are stationed in Maharashtra State under the provision of retention of family accommodation at the last duty station on grounds of children’s education provided further that, such candidate should have appeared and passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from a school/college situate in the State of Maharashtra.

These seats are within the sanctioned intake capacity and are available as State Level seats. A combined single merit list of all eligible DEF1, DEF2 & DEF3 candidates shall be prepared. Admission against the Defence category seats will be made strictly on the basis of inter-se-merit combined single merit list of all eligible DEF1, DEF2 & DEF3 candidates. Refer Proforma C, D and E for claiming this provision.

Note: This provision is NOT available to the children of CIVILIAN STAFF who is working / who has worked in the Indian Defence Service.

Reservation for Persons with Disability Candidates:

As per the provisions in Clause 39 of Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation Act 1995, three percent (3%) seats of tatal sanctioned intake capacity of all the institutions coming under CAP shall be reserved for Persons with Disability candidates.

  • 1% seats for Visually impaired (blind) candidates (P1)
  • 1% seats for Speech & hearing impaired (deaf & dumb) candidates, (P2)
  • 1% seats for Orthopedic disorders, learning disabilities, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphica, Spastic (P3)

Allotment of the seats reserved for the Persons with Disability candidates shall be done on the basis of an inter-se-merit of respective type of handicap of such candidates. These seats are available in HU / SL seats for Maharashtra Type – A, B and D only.
