International Conference on Global Trends in Science, Technology, Humanities, Commerce & Management (28th to 30th December, 2019)
The 9th International Conference on Global Trends in Science, Technology, Humanities, Commerce & Management (ICGTSTHCM19) was organized by Department of Bio- Technology & Department of Mechanical engineering from 28 to 30 December, 2019 in SSBTТs College of Engineering & technology, Jalgaon.
The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Chen Chia Chou, distinguished Professor, Material Science Division, National Taiwan University of Science & Technology, Taipei, Taiwan in presence of Prof. Shirish Sonawane, NIT, Warangal (TS), India, Mr. Ismail Akbani, Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune (M.S.), India & others.
Prof. (Dr) K. S. Wani, Principal, SSBTТs COET, Bambhori, Jalgaon (M.S.), India in his inaugural address emphasized on the need and importance of sustainable development, convergence of technologies and interdisciplinary research in todayТs era of 21st century. Er. N. K. Patil in his preface speech informed about the objective and purpose of the conference along with number of research papers / articles received and selected for the conference.
Invited Speakers from various institutes, colleges and universities, etc. addressed the audience and shared knowledge & their rich experience of research followed by 67 presentation of scientific papers by various authors. The three-day conference comprised 8 plenary sessions, each session of one hour, followed by 10-15 minutes for questions and answers. After each session participants were allowed to present their research papers. Hundreds of attendees, paper presenters, keynote and tutorial participants, students have benefited in many ways from this conference.
PLENARY SESSION 1 - Shape memory effects in Zirconia ceramics and their origins
Delivered By: Dr. Chen-Chia Chou, Distinguished Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Materials Division, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan.
Opening the conference, Dr. Chou highlighted on intriguing properties of shape materials which comprised of both metals and ceramics. He explained applications of Ferroelectric and piezoelectric films as micro-sensor and micro-actuator materials. He further discussed about his 42 patents and guided researchers about the hetero-structural interfacial analysis and control, phase and martensitic transformation, microstructure-property relation, ferroelectric and zirconia materials.
PLENARY SESSION 2 - Sustainability & Green Technology in Chemical Technology
Delivered By: Dr. Shirish H Sonawane, Professor and Head, Chemical Engineering Department, National Institute of Technology, Warangal, TS, India.
Prof. Shirish Sonawane focused on sustainable development in the chemical process operations is a present appeal from worldwide, to developed industrialized countries. Delivering sustainability within the industry will require that everyone involved understands his or her individual responsibilities in achieving more sustainable development. He discussed on Responsible Care as a tool that can be used to manage incremental improvements in environmental protection, product stewardship and occupational health and safety.
PLENARY SESSION 3 - Fostering Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Academic Institution
Delivered By: Mr. Ismail Akbani, Head, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune.
Microsoft Certified Innovative Educator Mr. Ismail Akbani made a presentation in which he noted to transform an academic campus into a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship. In this context, he envisaged to stir a discourse among academicians about adopting the design thinking approach within and outside the classrooms, and preach innovation by example. He highlighted some strategies to lead the Entrepreneurship Promotion & Innovation Cell [EPIC] towards bagging multiple laurels at national level.
PLENARY SESSION 4 - Transformation of an existing HEII into an Innovative Ц Productive HEII of 21st century
Delivered By: Dr. Vedvyas J. Dwivedi, Professor and Vice-Chancellor, C. U. Shah University, Wadhwan City, Surendranagar, Gujarat.
Dr. Vedvyas Dwivedi emphasized on how higher education enables the society to raise its standard and enhance its productivity and sustainability of living hood with peace and harmony. He discussed further how Pious, strong and eternal sparks are born through truequality education at the spatial junction where and when pure heart gets connected with a creative and skilled mind-set.
PLENARY SESSION 5 - New Trends in Future of Work & Skills for Educators of Tomorrow
Delivered By: Dr. Rajesh P. Khambayat, Joint Director, PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education, Bhopal, MP, India.
Dr. R. P. Kambhayat demonstrated the importance of implementing lifelong learning initiatives at the local level in order to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He further discussed the new perspectives of work for educators and explore possible future learning paradigms and emerging skills required in the light of industrial revolution. The rising transformations due to rapid technological innovation, globalization, demographic shifts, and climate change are having an unprecedented impact on the workplace and skills landscape.
