Report of Student Induction Program (SIP) (Academic Year 2021-22)

Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon has introduced a new curriculum for all UG Engineering Programmes (Bachelor of Engineering) with effect from the Academic year 2019-20. As per the model curriculum of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the university has introduced a mandatory induction Program in the curriculum for the newly joined students. The idea to introduce an induction program in the curriculum is to make the newly joined students feel comfortable in the new environment of engineering degree courses, sensitize them towards exploring their academic interests and activities, reducing competition and making them work for excellence, promote bonding within them, build relations between teachers and students, give a broader view of life, and building of character.

Keeping in view of this, SSBT's College of Engineering & Technology, Bambhori, Jalgaon has organized a brief Induction Program for the newly admitted students. Considering the pandemic situation, our college has decided to conduct the program in both virtual and offline (regular) modes. The virtual program was organized from December 22nd to 24th, 2021. Principal started his address with a warm welcome to newly admitted students. He reiterated the Vision and Mission of the Institute and also highlighted institutional strengths. He not only congratulated students & their parents for getting admitted at SSBT but also emphasized on the outcomes by the acronym SSBT as (Sincerity, Societal Development, Bold and Talent).

Through offline it was organized from May 19th to 24, 2022. An enthusiastic introduction of the program has been given by Dr. K. S. Patil, HOD of Applied Science Department. The program included different activities such as physical activities (Yoga & Meditation), Creative Arts (Painting, Dance Music, etc.), Universal human values, literary (Debating, Drama, etc.) and proficiency module session (English skill, group discussion). The most informative communication session was presented by Prof. Suresh Pande, Ms. Rashmi Gokhale and Mr. Devdatta Gokhle, Mr. Khemchandra Patil and Mr. D. D. Puri shared their wide knowledge on the topic of Aptitude and Attitude. An inspirational speech on Training and Placement has beendelivered by Dr. P. M. Solanki. He enlightened students on employability skills. Dr. Richa Modiyani shared a thoughtful message on creating resume. Mr. Nikhil Kulkarni has delivered a content packed speech on the topic of KCIIL activity, Innovation and Incubation. Mr. Himanshu Dixit has given a motivational speech on Project based learning and challenges. Mr. Buddha Bhushan More has given a fascinating speech on Music and has given an introduction to few musical instrument. Dr. Rupali Chaudhary Shajayoga has delivered a very replenishing session on Yoga and Meditation.The young Ms. MansiPatil (FE student) has presented an awareness speech on Cyber security.A vibrant and informative lecture on life and human values was presented by Dr. S. A. Thakur. On the part of creativity development a valuable lectureon the topic of “Nature and style of sensible writing” was presented by Prof. Suresh Pande.

Lectures by eminent people and visit to local area (Orphanage, Hospital) arefamiliarized the students with new environment and their new roles.More than 300 students participated in the Induction Program. Their participation has made them more confident and also made them aware of their responsibilities in society as an engineer. Faculty members also whole heartedly contributed in the program. Overall the glorious program was a grand success.
