Life skills are an essential skill that enables one to effectively deal with everyday challenges of life. Life skills help people protect themselves and promote health by taking positive actions. We live in a dynamic world, in this constantly changing environment; life skills would enable us to meet the everyday challenges of life. To cope with the increasing pace and change of modern life, students need new life skills such as the ability to deal with stress and frustration.
Following are the important life skills:
Yoga:
Yoga develops a skill that helps to navigate through social and emotional challenges of life which students learn through meditation, intentional breathing, asana practice. Yoga teaches various Life skills such as Concentration, Stillness, Stress Management, etc. which further improves their physical and emotional awareness and leads to development of resilience.
Physical Fitness:
Participation in sports and other physical activities provide developmental, emotional, and social benefits which strengthens all areas of well-being and success in life. Physical workout helps gain an understanding of the mental resilience and also receive a sense of belonging and build foundational life skills.
Health & Hygiene:
Personal hygiene and healthy habits are also important life skills to improve physical as well as mental health. Good hygiene practices can help to prevent the spread of viruses or organisms that are potential carriers of various diseases. Improvement in hygiene can be linked to increased life expectancy, decreased mortality rate and decreased spread of infectious diseases.
Mental hygiene helps to maintain mental health through proactive behaviour, self-esteem, trust, emotions, self-control that leads to set concrete objectives, learn to relax and handle adversity.
Our college aims at making the students imbibe life skills by organizing various events to get an insight into and opportunities to develop essential life skills, Thus it helps students to make decisions carefully, communicate effectively and cope up with surrounding circumstances to achieve progress and success.
