Glimpses of "Alumni Meet 2019-20 Held on September 15, 2019"
Shrama Sadhana Engineers Alumni Association (SEA) organized Alumni Meet 2019ñ20 on 15 September 2019, the auspicious day, of birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (Engineers Day) at SSBTís College of Engineering & Technology, Bambhori, Jalgaon (SSBT COET) with a motive to foster emotional bonds among present and past students. The objective of the meet was to promote sustained sense of belonging to the alma mater among the alumni, to celebrate their success and achievements, and to provide and disseminate information regarding their alma mater. Invitation for the meet was sent to all alumni through email, phone, and also publicized through social media such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Website etc.
The escorted campus tour began at 9 am and as more and more people arrived, the SSBT COET campus was suddenly bustling with activity and spates of laughter as the senior batches reminisced the good old days. At the reception every alumnus was greeted with a rose.
The meet began with felicitation of dignitaries, Chief Guest Hon. Mr. Chhabiraj Madhusudan Rane, Managing Director, Prof. (Dr.) K. S. Wani, Principal, Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Shekhawat, Vice Principal & G.B. Member, Prof. (Dr.) G. K. Patnaik, Director of Academics, Prof. (Dr.) U. S. Bhadade, Alumni Chairman and Mr. A. C. Wani, Convener Alumni Meet, followed by DEEP PRAJWALAN & Saraswati Vandana.
The Convener of Alumni Meet, Mr. A. C. Wani, delivered preface speech and welcomed the alumni. He appreciated their zeal to assemble in the meet despite their busy schedule and briefed the various activities conducted by SEA throughout the year. On the eve of Engineer’s Day, 15 September 2019, he also stressed the role of the engineers and their contribution for the society. The Alumni Chairman Prof. (Dr.) U. S. Bhadade outlined objectives of SEA, role of Alumni and their connectivity with alma mater. Following the welcoming address, Prof. (Dr.) G. K. Patnaik briefed the progress, various activities and milestones achieved by SSBT COET in every field. He also enlightened the state-of-the-art developments in research and other academic programs of the Institute. Inaugural address was delivered by chief guest Mr. Chhabiraj Rane. He underlined and praised the achievements of Alumni of SSBT COET in all walks/spheres of life. He expressed that it was matter of great pride for SSBT COET that most of its Alumni are entrepreneurs, top level executives in leading core companies, various government organizations, software companies and managers in Banks. He highlighted some of the recent developments in engineering & technology. He also guided students & Alumni regarding startup and successful entrepreneur.
In this Alumni Meet, awarding Alumni for their outstanding contribution was one of the main attractions. There were three categories of award: 1) Best Engineer – 2019 (Professional Achievement), 2) Best Entrepreneur - 2019 (Entrepreneurial) and 3) Best Social Personality-2019 (Social Impact). Total 09 awards were distributed, 03 in each category.
All the Alumni were greeted with the memento as a token of love from SEA by chief guest. The program was anchored by Dr. Richa Modiyani of MBA department and vote of thanks was proposed by Miss. Kajal Visrani. The program witnessed by more than 90 Alumni ranging across various batches from various parts of the country.
During self introductions session, Alumni Mr. Shital Dagade, Cofounder & COO, Esamyak Software Pvt. Ltd. from Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering shared the role of college in building values in his life, creating zeal and confidence for today’s competitive corporate world. He expressed his willingness to guide and support students regarding projects, industrial training and placements. Alumni Mr. Santosh bhatt, Founder, Balaji Ganesh Engineers, from Mechanical Engineering expressed that SSBT COET provided the appropriate career path and guidance that really helped him today. He also appealed to current students to work hard. Alumni Mr. Rahul Teni, Director, Austere Systems Pvt. Ltd. from Computer Engineering briefed current scenario and opportunities in engineering and guided regarding placements. Alumni Mr. Munish Grover, Director, SM Services UK from Civil Engineering affirmed that education at SSBT COET is with moral values that helped to build confidence & leadership qualities. Alumni Mr. Uday Patkar, HOD Bharti Vdyapeeth COE Lavale, Pune from Computer Engineering shared current industrial needs, expressed SSBT COET as a great place to study and also cherished old memories. Alumni Mr. Gaurav Pathak, Mr. Sarang Kulkarni, Mr. Arpit Sharma and Mr Ashish Kulkarni also expressed their views and shown their willingness to help students in preparing for competitive exams & placement activities.
Interaction Session of Alumni and Final Year Students
In post-lunch session, an interaction was organized for final year students with the executive alumni. The Alumni shared their ventures & experiences of engineering profession and current scenario of industry. Final year students discussed issues related to placements, recent technologies for their research and project, industrial requirements, government jobs, interview skills & higher studies. The discussion was healthy and fruitful. The dialogue between alumni and students boosted the confidence of our students.
A feedback was also collected from alumni regarding the organizational aspects of the Meet and their suggestions for improvement.
One of the most valuable takeaways from any meet is the new relationships and contacts made through networking. During networking lunch the alumni not only established new connections but also strengthened the older ones. And the delicious food, served during networking lunch, added to the sense of belongingness to the alma mater.
The Alumni Meet closed at a very emotional note. However, everyone appreciated the efforts by the SSBT COET SEA in organizing the Meet. Overall, Alumni & the students of SSBT COET had a wonderful time at the "ALUMNI MEET 2019–20" and the Meet ended with a promise to meet again.
