About the Department
Electrical is a core branch of Engineering and the Department was established in 1999. It is approved by AICTE and affiliate to Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University Jalgaon and having an intake of 60 students at four years Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering. The department had attained NBA accreditation in 2008. The department has a team of qualified, experienced & dedicated faculty. Faculty members have published several papers in National / International conferences & journals.
The department has 11 labs including Electrical Machines, Power System, Electrical Measurements and Network Analysis, Switch Gear and Protection, Industrial Drives and Control System, High Voltage Engineering, Microprocessor and Microcontroller/Basic Electrical and Electronics, Power Electronics/Analog Digital Electronics Lab. These labs are equipped with latest equipment like 400km long Transmission line study unit, Synchronization of alternators with infinite grid bus, 50KV AC & 70KV DC voltage test set. The department has smart class rooms and departmental library has several books related to syllabus & beyond, project reports etc.
The departmentis actively encouraging students to undertake sponsored and Start – Up related projects. The faculty provides technical assistance & guidance as well as facilitating financial assistance under various schemes. The department conducts various expert lectures, seminars, Add-on courses regularly to update the students about latest trends & developments in different areas of studies. Departmenthas signed MoUs with various organizations like Prolific Systems and Automation systems Pune, NITech Surat and 7 Parallel Techno Consultants Mumbai, for providing Industrial visits and training to students. The students are encouraged to participate in National and State level events like Dipex Project Exhibition.
Students are regularly performing well at university examination, including gold medals.The department has completed three projects with total Rs.7, 35,000/- funded by MODROBs and IEDC-DST and one ongoing project with fund of Rs. 3, 00,000/- from RGS&TC. Students are facilitated and get placed in Govt. and reputed private organizations like Mahadiscom, Mahatransco, Mahagenco, PWD & Railways, Spectrum, Hexaware, Infosys& TCS.
All the laboratories of the department are recognized research lab for PhD by Kaviyitri Bahinabai Chaudhri North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.
